Rishika 丘格

Dr. Rishika 丘格 is a gastroenterologist who cares for people with a range of digestive conditions and symptoms. She performs endoscopic procedures, such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, and specializes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative 结肠炎. She directs the UCSF Intestinal Ultrasound Clinic, where ultrasound imaging is used to assess inflammation and inform treatment decisions for patients with IBD.

In research, 丘格 focuses on IBD. She has a particular interest in how intestinal ultrasound can reduce the need for colonoscopies, as well as MRI and CT scans, and an interest in women's health in the context of IBD. She has investigated novel IBD medications, looking at their safety and efficacy, and has examined how having IBD impacts pregnancy outcomes.

丘格 earned her medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in IBD at UCSF.
